Corridonia Amanti dei Viaggi: Si licenziano partono per il Sud America e diventeremo Youtubers
CORRIDONIA «Mollo tutto e scappo in Sud America». Quante volte lo abbiamo sentito dire, nella maggior parte dei casi per ridere? Francesco Cuccioletta, 44 anni, e Sara Bartolacci, 41 anni, hanno deciso di farlo sul serio. Partiranno il 7 dicembre alla volta di Montevideo, capitale dell’Uruguay, dove recupereranno la loro moto e partiranno per un tour on the road dell’America Latina. La passione dei viaggi i due ce l’hanno sempre avuta e hanno deciso di provare a farne anche un lavoro: gireranno tra Uruguay, Argentina, Cile, Bolivia e via discorrendo, senza tappe ben precise, documentando la loro vita quotidiana sul loro canale Youtube
«Io lavoro da vent’anni come progettista di stampi al Gruppo Meccaniche Luciani – spiega Francesco – vent’anni di un lavoro che mi piace, ma che alla lunga ti vede stare cinque giorni a settimana seduto davanti al pc con la solita routine. La passione per i viaggi, specialmente in moto con lo zaino in spalla, ci ha accomunato fin da ragazzi, abbiamo toccato tutti i continenti ma sempre stando fuori per periodi limitati, per il fatto di dover rientrare a lavoro. Noi non volevamo aspettare la pensione per avere tutto il tempo che volevamo per fare ciò che ci piace di più. Così abbiamo deciso di prendercelo, il tempo che ci serve». Sia Francesco che Sara (impiegata alla profumeria Clementi) hanno quindi deciso di licenziarsi e partire alla volta del Sud America, che gireranno in sella alla loro moto. Ma abbandonare tutto per viaggiare per il mondo costa, anche andando in giro sempre con lo zaino in spalla.
«Oltre a viaggiare, ho la passione delle foto e dei video – aggiunge Francesco – e da un paio d’anni ho iniziato a condividere i nostri contenuti sui social, in particolare su Youtube. L’ho fatto per due anni nel tempo libero e qualche guadagno, con le pubblicità di Google, lo portiamo a casa. Ma per fare di più bisogna dedicargli maggiore impegno e torniamo al discorso del tempo da avere a disposizione. Per cui cercheremo di finanziarci facendo crescere il nostro canale raccontando passo dopo passo le avventure che vivremo». Franksaffair, questo il nome del canale Youtube dove negli anni la coppia corridoniana ha postato i contenuti legati ai loro viaggi, al momento di scrivere ha oltre 21mila followers, per circa 4 milioni di visualizzazioni complessive. Non male, ma servono numeri ben maggior per essere a tutti gli effetti degli Youtubers che possano tirare avanti soltanto coi frutti delle loro produzioni.
«Per alcuni è una follia, per noi è un sogno – continua Francesco – sappiamo che sarà molto difficile, ma non ci siamo dati dei vincoli. Vogliamo innanzitutto viaggiare con lentezza, ai nostri ritmi. E poi, se e quando vedremo che stiamo andando in difficoltà a livello economico, torneremo a casa». Nei giorni scorsi i due hanno lasciato la moto a Milano, da dove questa partirà per un lungo viaggio che, passando per mare, la farà arrivare a Montevideo a metà dicembre. Qui la recupereranno e partiranno per un coast to coast che, tagliando l’Argentina e valicando le Ande, li farà arrivare in Cile. Da qui saliranno verso Nord in direzione Bolivia e poi… chissà. «Abbiamo preso il volo di ritorno per il 7 agosto 2023 perché si sposa la sorella di mia moglie e lei le farà da testimone, ma lo abbiamo fatto più che altro perché prendere un volo andata e ritorno è più conveniente che fare solo andata – conclude Francesco – in realtà noi non ci siamo posti limiti: magari torniamo dopo un mese, magari fra un anno o ancora rientriamo per il matrimonio e poi ripartiamo, non necessariamente per il Sud America».

Francesco Cuccioletta, 44, and Sara Bartolacci, 41, have decided to take it seriously. They will leave on December 7 for Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, where they will recover their motorcycle and set off on a road tour of Latin America. The two have always had a passion for travel and have decided to try to make it a job: they will travel between Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and so on, without precise stops, documenting their daily life on their Youtube channel
«I have been working as a mold designer at the Meccaniche Luciani Group for twenty years – explains Francesco – twenty years of a job that I like, but which in the long run sees you sitting in front of the PC five days a week with the usual routine. The passion for travel, especially by motorbike with a backpack, has united us since we were boys, we have touched all continents but always staying out for limited periods, due to the fact of having to return to work. We didn’t want to wait for retirement to have all the time we wanted to do what we like most. So we decided to take it, the time we need ». Both Francesco and Sara (employee at the Clementi perfumery) have therefore decided to quit and leave for South America, which they will tour on the saddle of their motorbikes. But abandoning everything to travel the world costs money, even if you always go around with a backpack on your shoulder.
«In addition to travelling, I have a passion for photos and videos – adds Francesco – and a couple of years ago I started sharing our contents on social networks, in particular on Youtube. I did it for two years in my spare time and we take some money home with Google ads. But to do more you need to devote more effort to it and let’s go back to the question of the time available. So we will try to finance ourselves by growing our channel by telling the adventures we will live step by step». Franksaffair, this is the name of the Youtube channel where over the years the Corridonian couple has posted content related to their travels, at the time of writing it has over 21,000 followers, for about 4 million views overall. Not bad, but far greater numbers are needed to be in all respects Youtubers who can get by only with the fruits of their productions.
“For some it is madness, for us it is a dream – continues Francesco – we know it will be very difficult, but we have not given ourselves any constraints. Above all, we want to travel slowly, at our own pace. And then, if and when we see that we are going into financial difficulties, we will go home ». In recent days, the two left the bike in Milan, from where it will leave for a long journey which, passing by sea, will bring it to Montevideo in mid-December. Here they will retrieve it and leave for a coast to coast which, cutting through Argentina and crossing the Andes, will take them to Chile. From here they will go north towards Bolivia and then… who knows. “We took the return flight for August 7, 2023 because my wife’s sister is getting married and she will be her best man, but we did it mostly because taking a return flight is more convenient than doing one way – he concludes Francesco – in reality we have not set ourselves any limits: maybe we come back after a month, maybe in a year or again we come back for the wedding and then we leave again, not necessarily for South America».
